Moore Beautiful
Moore Beautiful is a non-profit citizen organization charged with designing, implementing and funding a city beautification program. At its first meeting on April 2, 1999, the committee began a fund raising campaign and adopted a broad plan to landscape public areas within the city. Since its inception, the committee has planted over 1000 trees and shrubs along arterial streets and boulevards, in city parks and other public spaces, and along the I-35 corridor. A strong maintenance program, coupled with support from city government and elected officials, has assured the success and continuation of the program. Partnerships formed between Moore Beautiful , the local business community, Oklahoma Tree Bank and other entities have done much to provide funds, labor and material for various projects. The deep pride the citizens of Moore take in the enhanced appearance of their city has caused them to adopt the program as their own and strengthened a cooperative community spirit.
