Moore Public Schools

The Moore Public School District is the fourth largest in the state with a student population of around 18,400. The district encompasses approximately 159 square miles and serves Moore and a portion of south Oklahoma City. The district comprises some 600 acres of property and 2.3 million square feet of buildings.

The district is founded upon strong student achievement, outstanding educators, involved parents and an active business community. Children are cared for, nurtured and treasured as well as informed, motivated and educated. The low teacher to student ratio of one to 18 demonstrates this commitment. The professional staff of more than 1,300 certified teachers and administrators has an average of 12 years of experience and more than 500 advanced degrees.

The district includes two high schools (10 – 12), five junior high schools (7 – 9), and 20 elementary schools (K – 6). There are specialized programs geared for students ranging from the academically gifted to high-challenge students as well as an alternative school for those whose needs cannot be met in the traditional classroom setting.

Students may participate in a wide variety of curricula and extracurricular activities, which stress academic achievement and community service. Competitive athletics / activities are offered in various grades including the academic bowl, band, golf, music, swimming, tennis, wrestling, basketball, cheerleading, football, track, baseball, cross country, gymnastics, soccer, softball, volleyball and pom pom.

Each year several high school students are named National Merit Finalists and Academic All Staters . The ACT and SAT scores are consistently above state and national averages. Moore Christian Schools

Moore Christian Schools uses a traditional Christian approach to learning. All classes are conducted in a loving and disciplined atmosphere. Students learn the practical applications of the Bible to their daily lives and character formation.

A very strong emphasis is given to reading through phonics. Comprehension of subject matter and a growing desire to read different types of literature are cultivated. Southwest Christian Academy

Southwest Christian Academy is a private school and child development center. The school provides a college preparatory academic program, and claims the quality of the academy has been directly impacted by the “train up a child” concept taught in the preschool and child development program.

Considered a conservative, Christian based organization, SCA maintains a screened group of students who want to be in a structured academic environment of accelerated education. Gifted children, and the highly motivated, enjoy an “unlimited progress” atmosphere. Phonics-based reading is a high priority for the SCA kindergarten. Moore Norman Technology Center

Moore Norman Technology Center has been providing high school students and adults the opportunity to receive quality career and technology education for more than 25 years. Through full-time education and short-term training programs, the goal is to help individuals and businesses succeed.

Established in 1972, MNTC has gained a national reputation as a premiere technology center offering education that meets the needs of career and college bound students. More than 20,000 people attend classes, workshops, seminars and conferences annually.

The campus is located on 75 acres between the communities of Moore and Norman. Five buildings on the campus comprise more than 300,000 square feet, featuring modern labs, state-of-the-art equipment, and exceptional meeting rooms. Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College

Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, established in 1959, is accredited with the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. The school offers courses in twenty different areas of study, including a Master of Arts degree in Theology an the ABLE degree completion program. With a student to teacher ratio of twelve to one, each student is assured the personalized attention and guidance deserved.

Each full-time faculty member holds a master’s degree or higher, and averages nearly ten years experience.
