Government Affairs

New in 2024! We will be hosting monthly Government Affairs Council informal Q&A meetings on the first Friday of every month at 8:30am with various state and local government officials. No cost to attend, registration is required. Open to Chamber members only. Check our Calendar of Events for dates and details.

The Chamber serves as an advocate for the businesses’ point of view by being the collective voice. This is accomplished through the hard work of the Board of Directors, programs, Government Affairs committee, and task forces. All its efforts are designed to advocate and support the economic and business interests of Moore and the surrounding area.

Government Affairs will focus on strengthening relationships with elected officials. They will also develop and advocate local, state, and national public policy. All these efforts are focused on what is supportive of Moore area businesses and consumers.

The focus includes:
  • Advocate business-related issues at the local, state and federal levels.
  • Foster connections and relationships with policy makers.
  • Provide timely information and education for Chamber members.
  • Equip members for effective involvement and influence.
  • Key governmental affairs activities include:
    • Eggs & Issues Series (minimum of 6x a year):
      • Such topics as Legislative Updates, OMMA & Marijuana Impact, Film Industry - the New Economic Engine, and much more.
      • Other main events include: Day at the Capitol, Legislative Summit, Military Appreciation Luncheon, State of the City, and State of the Schools.
    • Maintain relationships with governmental officials, monitor issues and recommend action when needed.

      • Business and economic development
      • Military and public safety
